Dark Zone balance in The Division is "definitely a priority"

As cool as the concept of the Dark Zone is in The Division, a player versus player environment where everyone is capable of turning from ally to antagonist with a misplaced bullet, it isn’t really taking off right now. In fact, most of the time a jaunt into the Dark Zone is actually quite civil provided that you’re playing during the hours when the younger scum of another nation are either asleep or at school.

Beyond avoiding certain types of Dark Zone players in The Division however, the PVP environment remains focused on teamwork and getting along, primarily due to just how heavy punishments are for rogue agents when they decide to steal some loot from your fresh corpse. There’s various other issues at play here as well, such as enemies deciding to spawn right on top of you along with their a half-dozen of their closest yellow elite flamethrower pals for good measure.

And those are issues which Ubisoft Massive will be looking into.

In a community livestream event via GameSpot, community developer Hamish Bode said that tweaks will be made accordingly, with Dark Zone balancing “definitely a priority for the development team,” saying that the studio is “looking at all of those things at the moment.” Bode was also quizzed on any potential high-level gear that would be making an appearance soon, saying that “there are surprises to come,” in The Division.

Such a tease. Right now, I’m not too concerned with the Dark Zone. If anything, I’m actually focusing solely on being a hunter, earning Dark Zone reputation and mad stacks of coin yo so that I can buy some nnice new gear eventually. Because having a visible canister of contaminated goods can be a death sentence when a dozen shotgunners magically appear out of nowhere as Dark Zone mania continues to run wild all over you. Brother.
